Algeria, which has always been true to the brotherly Palestinian people since its independence, cannot bless the outcomes and consensus reached in black rooms regarding the future of the Palestinian cause.
Algeria has preferred to work in the field, whether through its tireless efforts to fulfill its financial obligations to the State of Palestine through the Arab League, or through efforts to reunite the various Palestinian factions, which it initiated in October 2022, when the Algiers Declaration was signed by 14 different Palestinian factions, led by Fatah and Hamas as part of the reconciliation process between the two factions after a conflict that began following the 2006 Palestinian legislative elections and included Hamas’s takeover of Gaza in 2007.
The Algiers agreement, which was supervised and sponsored by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, included explicit provisions stipulating the holding of presidential and legislative elections within a year of its signing, with the acceptance of all factions, led by Fatah and Hamas, before the intervention of Arab parties that were disturbed by the Algerian success and rushed to thwart the initiative through dastardly maneuvers aimed at destroying all foundations that enable the brotherly Palestinian people to build their independent state on June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital, Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
The efforts made by the Algerian state under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune were not aimed at reaping immediate material gains, as some merchants of situations and occasions do, but rather it was a sincere effort, faithful to God Almighty and history, aimed at reuniting the Palestinian people and uniting them under the banner of the PLO, the only legitimate representative towards establishing their state on the borders of June 1967, based on the recognition it received from the United Nations Organization.
Algeria’s efforts are not new. The whole world can attest that it was Algeria that brought the Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, Abu Ammar, wearing his military uniform to the United Nations headquarters, where he delivered his historic speech before the UN General Assembly on November 13, 1974, which ended with a historic sentence in which he said, “War starts from Palestine and peace starts from Palestine.”
This participation enabled the State of Palestine to obtain the status of observer member of the United Nations, after which Algeria received a large number of Palestinians after leaving Lebanon in 1982, until the historic milestone that was represented in the S-Declaration document
This is a challenge to the major world powers that want to shape the world to their liking by denying the right of the Palestinian people to their homeland and the establishment of their independent state, which is what Algeria insists on today under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who insisted from the podium of the United Nations to defend the Palestinian right, which is what Algeria has been working on since it obtained non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council, where it succeeded in enabling Palestine to become a member of the UN.
Reminding the oblivious is one of the most important duties, and here we can only respectfully note the insistence of President of the Republic Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, during Algeria’s hosting of the 31st Arab Summit on November 1, 2022, to label it as the Palestine Summit.
No two sane people disagree that the success of Algeria’s endeavors supervised by President of the Republic Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune in October 2022, which would have resulted in Palestinian reconciliation and the organization of legislative and presidential elections within a year from the date of the Algerian declaration, would have spared the Palestinian people the scourge of genocidal wars, displacement and starvation again, but the “joggers and normalizers” involved in the Abraham peace deal had another opinion Algeria is innocent of it and will not participate in it, nor in slaughtering the Palestinian people again, nor will it bless this eternal habit of liquidating the Palestinian cause drawn by some Arab circles in dark rooms, whatever it is, but will continue defending the cause.
